JANE'S ADDICTION Drummer's Family Emergency Forces Oakland Concert Cancelation
December 9, 2011Pioneering '90s alt-rock act JANE'S ADDICTION has been forced to cancel its appearance at tonight's Not So Silent Night concert at Oakland, California's Oracle Arena due to drummer Stephen Perkins' undisclosed family emergency. Performing in JANE'S ADDICTION's place will be local pop-punk heroes GREEN DAY. Also scheduled to appear are FLORENCE + THE MACHINE, MUMFORD & SONS and BUSH, among others.
Tickets, priced at $39.50-$150, are available for this event at the venue box office.
JANE'S ADDICTION's new album, "The Great Escape Artist", sold around 24,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 12 on The Billboard 200 chart.
The CD is JANE'S ADDICTION's first all-new studio effort since 2003's "Strays", which opened with more than 110,000 units to enter the chart at No. 4.
"The Great Escape Artist" is only JANE'S ADDICTION's fourth album of original material in 20 years.
The current JANE'S ADDICTION lineup features original members Stephen Perkins, Perry Farrell on vocals and Dave Navarro on guitar.
